A rather warped Victorian murder mystery. As Victorian crime capers go this one really does stand erect and proud from the crowd. Hugely enjoyable nonetheless, very rude and very entertaining.
(****) Me and My Big Mouth
This is tragi-comic mystery written by someone who obviously loves London, with a particular nostalgia for the age of gin and debauchery. It has dialogue more knowing than Wickipedia and so arch it could kiss its own behind and for tuppence it probably would! The hero’s descent into a Victorian gothic hell makes and breaks him but he never loses his ability to wink at the audience. Like a hip x-rated Rakes Progress – it’s filthy and funny in equal measure.

'Good title'
Andrew Martin, author of Necropolis Railway
"A jolly entertaining book...filled with filth and sleaze and sufficiently weighty enough to cause serious damage if hurled at one’s man-servant with enough force."
Lord Likely
"A rude, rollicking Victorian period piece...creative cussing and slanguage abound. Those of a nervous disposition should look away."
